Koh Samui has three distinct seasons in a year. They are Hot, Rainy and really hot (I have already mentioned it’s a tropical island and not an ideal match for snow-lovers). Really Hot season at Koh Samui begins from April and continues till the advent of rain in September/October. If you are from western countries, the scorching sun at Koh Samui can extract a great toll from your body and make your stay really unpleasant. However, due to tropical climate, you can expect occasional rain during the really hot season too.
From beginning of October to Mid of December, one can find Koh Samui bathing in the rain. And, during this time you can notice several days when it is raining cats and dogs. Then comes the hot or dry season at Koh Samui! During this time the temperatures will usually be 30C / 85F and sunny. If you are planning a holiday at Koh Samui, plan it during the dry season (mid December through March).
